Container as FDA approved Food Storage Facility

Container as FDA approved Food Storage Facility

Refrigerated (Reefer) Container as approved Food Storage Facility by the Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Here are some things to consider before using a refrigerated (reefer) container for food storage:

• Size: decide on the size of the container. Reefer containers come in standard 20’ (6 meters) and 40’ (12 meters) in length. Width is standard at 2.5 meters (external dimension). If your space is limited, we offer 10’ (3meters) mini container. ThaiReefer can also modify the container length to fit your location at extra cost. Most of the 20’ / 40’ containers are 2.6 / 2.9meters high (external dimensions).
• Electrical Power: Reefer containers require 3phase power, 13amp to 20amp. Make sure you have suitable power setup. 30amp breaker is needed for each container. The container comes with 15meters power cable.
• Location: reefer containers can be placed outside. They are designed to operate in the sun and rain without any problems. They need to be placed on flat and level dry ground. Concrete blocks/posts/steel plates can be used.
• Permits: if you need Thai food and drug administration permit using reefer container as storage, it is possible and here are the steps.

o Show necessary signage.
o Show that the Container is secured to the ground.
o Show necessary storage and access.
o Show lighting and refrigeration unit in working condition.
